Mind Mapping The Mobile Car Wash Business
The image to the left is a version of the original mind map created by the group on the potential business.
We chose four topics to discuss initially and then went on to further research other areas of importance such as marketing and target market later in our business development.
Skills: we recognised that staff would not need extensive training in cleaning. We instead decided it would be more beneficial to have staff members who have great communication skills and are able to build friendships with cliental. Their training would be geared not only towards use of the specialised tools but also customer communications and service.
Resources: Straight away we established that water would need to be sourced and paid. The group came up with several ideas including using the clients water for a smaller cost or carrying our own water tanks with us. Environmentally friendly cleaning products would need to be used to minimalise harmful effects on the planet. We would need to resource cleaning tools such as a pressure hose and sponges.
Costs: The basic set up costs would include the physical equipment such as vans, pressure cleaners, detergents and staff wages. The group then discussed some forms of advertisement and publicity coverage that would need to be paid for.
Location: This was an important talking point as it depends heavily on who your target audience is. We decided a central place that has a high amount of vehicles at first. The group then decided that we could be different by going to peoples homes to wash their cars. With this decision our target audience was broadened to include more suburbs.
